CFA^® Fundamentals Book

The book is designed for potential candidates for the CFA^® Level 1 exam who either do not have an academic background in business or may be rusty with the type of material covered at Level 1. The writing style is casual and conversational. Topical coverage includes Economics, Financial Statement Analysis, Quantitative Methods, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, Security Valuation (including discussions of equity and fixed-income securities), the basics of Portfolio Theory and an appendix section on Ethics (emphasizing the concepts behind the CFA Institute Standards of Professional Conduct).

Each chapter contains an introductory section with Expected Learning Outcomes, which list the main points to be covered. Throughout each chapter, "breakout boxes" are used to define challenging terms or explain difficult concepts. Each chapter concludes with a conceptual overview and a problem set consisting of relevant multiple choice questions with answers and explanations.
