Course Review Policy
Kaplan CPA Education makes every effort to maintain the content of its
courses. Kaplan CPA Education courses undergo a rigorous evaluation,
quality assurance, and compliance process before being made available
to its customers. Course materials are sent to an external accounting
contractor for checks of content accuracy and relevancy, a comparison
to applicable laws and statutes, and to assure clarity of material. A
second review is done by a Certified Public Accountant at Kaplan CPA
Education. If substantive changes have occurred, and it is deemed
necessary, the course will go through pilot testing of a minimum of
three independent Certified Public Accountants, as required by the
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Kaplan CPA
Education updates its courses no less frequently than on an annual
basis, and in any event to reflect any changes to applicable tax laws.
Record Retention Policy
Kaplan CPA Education will retain appropriate records for a minimum of
seven years. These records include:
- Program outline/materials.
- Records of participation.
- Dates during which program was available for purchase.
- Number of credits earned by participants.
- Results of program evaluations.
- Program authors names and credentials.
-
Pilot testing results, including date of pilot test, the target
participant population, how the sample participants were selected, names,
addresses, telephone numbers and job resumes of sample participants, and
a summary of participants actual completion time and the calculation of
the recommended CPE credit.
Kaplan CPA Education corporate policy is to maintain billing and
payment information per Internal Revenue Service requirements. Kaplan
CPA Education periodically reviews individual State Boards of
Accountancy record retention policies and defaults to the strictest
laws.
